Chengdu's Giant Pandas

Endemic to China, this worldwide conservation icon is classified as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List, with less than 2,000 Giant Pandas remaining in the wild. Adored across the globe, people from all around the world come to visit this national icon. 

Chengdu has several (5) Panda bases: each with different purposes & good to visit for different reasons.

1. Chengdu Research Base: near Chengdu city, most accessible park

2. Dujiangyan Panda Base: offers Volunteer Programmes

3. Dujiangyan Panda Valley: Reintroduction to Wild, Panda Training

4. Wolong Shenshuping Panda Base: Scenic backdrop of Mountains, Great for Photography

5. Bifengxia Panda Base: Rescue & Rehabilitation of Pandas

6. Wolong Hetaoping Base: Medical Care (not open to Public)
